SPNO held a cross-community planning meeting on August 21-22, 2017 at Community Development Halton in Burlington. Forty-five “equity champions” (students, parents, educators, researchers) from 14 communities attended and participated. They worked together:
- To become oriented to the Knowledge Network on Student well-Being – Equity & Inclusive Education.
- To discuss a proposed approach and plan for creating and supporting Communities of Practice in the second year of the KNSWB project (Sept. 2017 – August 2018).
- To achieve a preliminary shared understanding of equity and inclusive education for exploration in terms of collecting existing research and the eventual co-creation of knowledge products and resources.
- To establish clarity on how we understand research and knowledge mobilization on equity and inclusive education.
